Christine’s Turkey Red Pepper Sliders
My fire roasted pepper spread mixed directly into the ground meat adds not only beautiful sweetness, but moisture to these scrumptious burgers. You can substitute chicken for the turkey and make them full size if you prefer. Ask for dark meat so the meat is more juicy.
1 lb ground turkey dark meat ( 454 gm)
2 green onions, finely chopped
1 Tbsp. fresh chopped rosemary ( 15ml)
1/2 tsp. fresh sage ( 2.5 ml)
1 slice multi grain bread, soaked in water, squeezed and chopped
1/4 cup CC’s “Fired up” roasted red pepper spread (50 ml)
salt and pepper to taste
12 mini burger buns or 5 large
Sliced tomato – optional
Lettuce – optional
Fired Up red pepper spread – optional for garnish
Preheat grill on high and oil well. Alternatively, preheat oven to 400°.
In a medium bowl combine the turkey meat, green onions, rosemary, sage, bread , egg, roasted peppers, salt and freshly cracked black peppers. Work gently with hands just to blend.
Form into 15 mini sliders or 5 larger burgers, pressing down to an even 1/2 inch thickness.
Grill on BBQ about 5 minutes per side or until juices no longer run pink and thermometer reads 165° when inserted sideways into middle of burger.
Serve in a bun with lettuce and more fired up .
Makes 5 full size burgers or 15 sliders
